Job Scope
To ensure that the highest standards of hospitality and welcome are demonstrated at all times. To complete all relevant procedures in relation to the respective department as laid down by Gainford Hotel Group.
Key Job Responsibilities
* To be fully conversant with the facilities, services and special promotions offered by the hotel and to pass this information on to the guest whenever the possibility arises in order to maximise hotel sales.
* Whenever possible to anticipate guest's needs, to be aware of all written and spoken requests, to carry out these requests in a courteous and helpful manner.
* To be fully conversant and able to operate the hotels front office systems.
* Ensure that all charges are correctly posted to the guests bills following the standard procedures.
* Be aware of the hotel availability and that every opportunity to maximise room sales is taken.
* Deal with cash, cheque and credit transactions in accordance with the hotel and company policy, and to ensure that any discrepancies are reported immediately.
* Ensure the float handed over is checked and correct.
* Ensure all messages received for guests are passed on accurately and as quickly as possible.
* Ensure a sound knowledge of the local area regarding history, places of interest and special events and where further information can be obtained.
* Operate the hotel switchboard and deal with all internal and external calls, according to procedure.
* To display and fulfil the 'Can-Do' service style and philosophy.
Self Management
* Comply with hotel rules and regulations and provisions contained in the employment handbook
* Comply with company grooming and uniform standards
* Comply with time keeping and attendance policies.
* Actively participate in training and development programs and maximise opportunities for self development.
Customer Service
* Demonstrate service attributes in accordance with industry expectations and company standards to include:
* Being attentive to guests
* Accurately and promptly fulfilling guest requests
* Understand and anticipate guest needs
* Maintain a high level of knowledge which will enhance the guest experience
* Demonstrate a service attitude that exceeds expectations
* Take appropriate action to resolve guest complaints
* Appreciate the dynamic nature of the hotel industry and extend these service attributes to all internal customers.
* Be able to promote the hotel products and services.
* Maintain a high level of product and service knowledge.
