Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership Social Worker NE MHSM Salary: £39,129 - £46,023 Hours: 36 per week An exciting opportunity has arisen within the NE Mental Health and Substance Use team and we are looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Social Worker. Our main aim is to support and achieve positive outcomes with individuals who experience issues and barriers because of addiction or poor mental health. The post holder will work in partnership with a variety of internal and external agencies and undertake a wide range of both statutory and non-statutory social work tasks, including assessing and managing risk. The post holder will work as part of a well-established multidisciplinary team and will receive regular supervision, training and support. Experience and qualifications required Professional social work qualification (i.e. BA, DipSW, CQSW or equivalent Experience of supporting people who have challenging and complex needs, ideally with a focus on mental health and substance use service users would be desirable. Experience of working within a statutory social work setting would be preferred The post holder will be expected to demonstrate A trauma informed approach to social work practice An ability to effectively assess and manage risk An ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a range of individuals, including service users and other professionals An understanding of Social Work, Adult Support and Protection, Adults with Incapacity and Mental Health legislative frameworks An understanding and awareness of recovery-based models for those impacted by mental health and addiction issues.
