Senior Specialist Spinal/Neurological Physiotherapist - Chedington


Overview

The Senior Neurological Physiotherapist will be based at Chedington as part of an experienced multidisciplinary team, working with residential and outpatient clients who have complex neurological conditions including Stroke, Traumatic Brain Injuries, Spinal Injuries, and complex poly-trauma including amputees. The post-holder will have excellent clinical skills and experience in neurological rehabilitation across the clinical pathway, including assessment, treatment planning, and discharge planning. This role would be suited to someone with experience looking to develop their skills in adult Neurology, spinal cord injury and amputee rehab. Supervision and specialist training will be provided, as well as access to CPD opportunities, including working with advanced neurotechnologies and involvement in national and global research projects.


Responsibilities

* Communication: Communicate in a manner that positively represents Hobbs Rehabilitation at all times; communicate professionally and effectively with other team members and external stakeholders; communicate professionally and effectively with patients and carers in person and over the telephone; maintain client confidentiality; use advanced communication skills to deliver clinical advice and treatment; recognise needs for alternative methods of communication and respond accordingly.
* Clinical: Practice safely within legal and ethical boundaries; assess patients with acquired physical and cognitive impairments using a range of formal and informal assessments; evaluate assessment results and generate diagnoses and clinical strengths/limitations; formulate patient-centred goals with the MDT; deliver clinically effective one-to-one and group interventions; provide high-quality care in inpatient, outpatient, home, care home and community settings; monitor progress using outcome measures and adapt plans; liaise with the MDT to ensure patient safety; plan caseloads with the service lead; maintain up-to-date clinical notes; write patient reports including discharge summaries; attend meetings; ensure safe use of clinical equipment.
* Administrative: Maintain up-to-date clinical records and diaries; respond to telephone calls, emails and chats in a timely manner; ensure client confidentiality and follow Hobbs policies.
* Professional Conduct: Maintain practice in line with HCPC standards and professional guidelines; comply with Hobbs policies; promote client safety and wellbeing; attend work punctually; notify Line Manager if unable to attend; represent Hobbs Rehabilitation professionally.
* Leadership / Management / Supervision: Manage a specialist neurological caseload with appropriate time management; coordinate therapy services to meet priorities; provide line management and/or clinical supervision to junior staff and therapy assistants; participate in recruitment and induction; contribute to service improvement and organisational projects; represent the department in working groups and team meetings.
* Education / Training / CPD: Engage in CPD, supervision and annual appraisal; ensure mandatory training compliance; contribute to training of healthcare professionals, patients and carers; supervise staff and students; apply CPD and research findings to practice; identify areas for quality improvement and support training initiatives.
* Health & Safety / Data Security: Maintain health, safety and security in line with policies; complete mandatory training; manage incidents and risks; ensure GDPR compliance and data protection; maintain confidentiality of clinical information.
