Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Children's Homes Operations Manager to oversee the management and delivery of services across multiple children's residential homes. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of care, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and driving the ongoing improvement of services provided to children and young people in our care.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the daily operations of multiple children's homes, ensuring adherence to Ofsted regulations and Children's Home Regulations.
* To register over the homes as the responsible individual.
* Ensure that all homes offer a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children and young people, addressing their emotional, social, and developmental needs.
* Lead, support, and develop Registered Managers and staff teams, ensuring they receive the necessary training, guidance, and motivation to provide high-quality care.
* Implement and oversee policies, procedures, and quality assurance frameworks to uphold high standards of care and operational efficiency.
* Ensure effective safeguarding procedures are in place and followed, consistently promoting the welfare of children and young people.
* Manage budgets and financial resources effectively, ensuring cost-efficient service delivery without sacrificing quality.
* Develop and sustain strong partnerships with local authorities, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders.
* Support inspections, complete audits, and compliance reviews, ensuring the homes meet and surpass regulatory expectations.
* Identify and implement service improvements, adopting best practices and innovative approaches to enhance care quality.
* Respond to crisis situations and serious incidents, providing leadership and resolution strategies as needed.
* Support on-call and out-of-hours support.
Requirements
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
* Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a children's residential care setting or a registered manager with multi-site experience.
* Strong knowledge of Children's Home Regulations, Ofsted standards, and safeguarding procedures.
* Excellent leadership, management, and team-building skills.
* Budgeting and finance acumen
* Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and make sound decisions.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with staff, children, and external agencies.
* A commitment to promoting the well-being and development of children and young people.
* Full UK driving licence (desirable but may be required depending on location and responsibilities).
