Personal Assistant

Location: South Croydon

Details:
This role is to support a man.

The candidate should be a woman*.

Drivers licence required: Yes

Own vehicle needed: Yes

Employment status: employed

Hours per week: Flexible 15.5 hours a week between 6am and 6pm

Hourly pay rate: £15.00

My husband is a very intelligent and quick-witted man that has Parkinson's, Lewy body dementia, and type 2 diabetes.

We are looking for a trustworthy, friendly, and flexible PA that we can rely on to help with my husband's care.

I am seeking someone to assist with his personal care needs, general housework, and some food preparation.

A full DBS check will need to be completed due to the nature of the care required and children within the home.

Duties include:
- Medication prompting/administering
- Personal grooming
- Moving and handling
- Housekeeping
- Transportation
- Dressing / undressing
- Bathroom assistance
- Preparing drinks, snacks, and cutting up food
- Other relevant duties as required

Candidate qualities:
- Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality
- Reliable with good timekeeping
- Able to follow instructions and work on own initiative
- Hygienic, tidy, and well-organized
- Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
- Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
- Honest and cheerful
- Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
- Committed to high standards of health & safety

Additional requirements:
- Non-smoker due to medical reasons

Notes:
All applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check if required.

Please note, if successful, you will be engaged either directly or employed by the individual employer and not by Independent Lives. The role may be offered on an employed or self-employed basis, depending on the agreement with the employer. If employed, you will be entitled to holiday pay and an employment contract.
