PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £28,000 £33,000 + London Weighting (£5,441) depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Join the dynamic EMEA Media Planning team to help shape how audiences across the region experience BBC content. As a Media Planner, you’ll play a pivotal role in designing and executing promotional strategies across linear and streaming platforms, ensuring our content reaches the right viewers at the right time. Your work will directly support the BBC’s mission to inform, educate, and entertain global audiences through impactful and data-driven campaigns.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
* Promo Planning & Coordination: Coordinates promo planning across EMEA linear channels, liaising with teams like Production, Presentation Planning, Programming, and Marketing. Exposure to planning and analysis of Continuity & Navigation and owned VOD promotional inventory in addition.
* Campaign Implementation & Support: Assists in executing campaign plans across owned linear and digital media, working closely with Media, Marketing, and Creative teams.
* Media Inventory & Airtime Management: Acts as a guardian of BBC promotional airtime, developing deep knowledge of media inventory and ensuring editorial integrity.
* Performance Monitoring & Analysis: Monitors channel playout and campaign performance, providing insights to Media portfolio leads and campaign planners.
* Data & Research Insights: Provides audience analysis using tools like TechEdge and supports post-campaign analysis (PCAs) with data insights.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
* Experience working within a broadcasting company (strongly desirable), advertising, media or research agency.
* Demonstrable understanding linear commercial broadcast marketplace.
* Experience of analysing and interpreting data.
* Knowledge of broadcast audience scheduling and evaluation systems e.g. TechEdge.
* Strong time management and communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
* An understanding and application of media research and marketing within a broadcast environment.
* An understanding of creative marketing issues.
* Experience planning and advertising VOD content
