People Coordinator (12-Month Fixed Term Contract - Maternity Cover)
About the Role
We're looking for an organised and people-focused People Coordinator to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll support the full employee lifecycle-from recruitment and onboarding through to payroll support and employee relations.
Working closely with the People/HR team and colleagues across the business, you'll play a key role in delivering a positive employee experience while ensuring processes run smoothly and efficiently.
This is an office-based role, working 37.5 hours per week:
1. Monday to Thursday: 08:30 - 17:00
2. Friday: 08:30 - 14:30
Key Responsibilities
3. Provide administrative support on low-level employee relations matters (e.g. absence, conduct, performance)
4. Attend meetings and take accurate, confidential notes
5. Guide managers on policies and processes, escalating where appropriate
6. Support the preparation and processing of monthly payroll
7. Assist with employee engagement and recognition initiatives
8. Coordinate recruitment activity, including liaising with agencies, scheduling interviews, and managing candidates
9. Manage onboarding processes, including contracts, right-to-work checks, and inductions
10. Process leavers, including exit interviews and system updates
11. Maintain accurate HR records and employee data
12. Monitor absence and support HR reporting (e.g. holidays, overtime, KPIs)
13. Ensure compliance with GDPR and data protection standards
14. Provide general administrative support across the People/HR function
About You
You'll have a solid foundation in HR administration and a genuine passion for supporting people. You're highly organised, detail-oriented, and confident handling sensitive information.
Essential:
15. Previous experience in an HR or People administration role
16. Experience supporting low-level employee relations matters
17. Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
18. High attention to detail and accuracy
19. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently
20. Professional approach to handling confidential information
Desirable:
21. CIPD Level 3 (or working towards) or equivalent experience
22. Experience supporting recruitment and onboarding
23. Exposure to payroll processes (e.g. Sage or similar systems)
24. Experience within a manufacturing or similar environment
