We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative clinical psychologist with excellent clinical, leadership and management skillswho is keen to lead the paediatric psychologists in theBuckinghamshire Healthcare Trust.The paediatric teamis small enough for us to know and support each other and share projects across specialities but big enough to be a force within the Trust.

Our paediatric psychology input is aligned to the heath specialities of diabetes, burns, cystic fibrosis, community neurodevelopment, spinal cord injury, neonates and long covid.

An important part of this role is to continue to drive energy towards developing more psychological resource using traditional service development and thinking of innovative methods to spread psychological mindedness across our paediatric colleagues. The current focus is on developing psychological input to epilepsy, functional neurological disorder and general paediatrics. Your voice will be important in helping the Trust understand the need for and models of paediatric psychology.

We are highly respected by our MDT colleagues and hospital management. The paediatric psychologistsare part of a larger team of clinical health psychological professions, led by the Chief Psychological Professions Officer with whom you will work closely.

A main part of the role will be to continue the previous postholder's work and further increase the profile and understanding of the need for paediatric clinical psychology and to drive service development.

You will line manage and provide clinical supervision to 8b paediatric clinical psychologists, and specialist supervision to the clinical psychologists working in paediatrics as part of a lifespan role to ensure that a model of child centred work is upheld. In addition, you will consult into and supervise an assistant psychologist working in the long covid service.

You will lead regular paediatric psychology meetings for all paediatric clinical psychologists, clinical psychology trainees and assistant psychologists with the aim of maintaining cohesion, sharing skills, updates and overlapping interests to enable the children and young people in our care receive holistic, high quality psychological care.
