About you: We are looking for a passionate, hands-on Assistant Manager to work closely with the Venue Manager & Team Leaders and lead the team at the Wonky Donkey pub & adjoining Pavilion show bar. Showcasing delicious pub classic throughout the day in The Wonky Donkey and hosting vibrant entertainment & sports in the Pavilion show bar late into the evening, this role blends everything from relaxing breakfasts to late night shows and hot snacks. This role is a perfect opportunity for an established and confident food & beverage leader who loves presenting delicious food, thrives on building high-performing teams, and takes pride in running a safe, compliant, and welcoming venue. You’ll be a natural host and an inspiring leader and will balance warmth with high standards of excellence. Essential Requirements: Proven experience of leading teams in a pub, restaurant or hospitality venue. Strong knowledge of health & safety, food hygiene and compliance. Experience managing stock, GP margins and budgets. Ability to lead, train and motivate a diverse team. Excellent service and communication skills. Organised, resilient and solutions focused. Passion for food, drink and hospitality. Key Responsibilities: Lead the day-to-day operation. Work alongside the Venue Manager to recruit, train, coach and develop a high-performing team. Create a positive culture aligned to our values of Growth, Passion & Togetherness. Ensure full compliance with health, safety and licensing. Stock control & ordering. Management of payroll budgets. Deliver excellence and build relationships at owners’ events, Drive sales through guest experience, upselling, and team engagement. Hours of Work: This is a salaried role. Weekend and evening availability will be critical.
