Responsibilities

* Lead the determination of equipment criticality across all electrical asset classes and business functions, acting as the technical authority for whole-life asset care strategies.
* Apply Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to develop predictive and preventative maintenance strategies for critical assets, and to propose efficient spare parts holding strategies.
* Use field feedback and performance data to conduct regular Preventative Maintenance Optimisation (PMO), ensuring maintenance activities remain effective and efficient.
* Perform detailed reliability, asset health, and performance analysis—prioritising high-risk and high-cost assets—to initiate strategy reviews and quantify improvements such as MTBF, cost savings, and resource efficiency.
* Facilitate defect elimination studies and solutions by collating and analysing RCA conclusions and using the company’s ‘bad actor’ report to identify repeat cause assets for investigation.
* Provide technical support and content for job plans, work instructions, and internal training; collaborate with operational and maintenance teams to improve reliability and ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including DSEAR.
* Support the commercial, engineering and capital delivery area to ensure new or modified installations are standardised where possible and designed for reliability, maintainability, and minimum whole life cost (WLC).

Technical Skills & Experience

* Strong understanding of maintenance, asset management and reliability principles, with practical experience in maintaining electrical assets and applying best practices within maintenance teams.
* Incorporated Engineer status or commitment to achieving Chartered status through a recognised professional body.
* Knowledgeable with UK electricity regulations and quality standards.
* Commitment to Health, Safety and Wellbeing, with appreciation of Process Safety and its role in operational excellence.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to tailor technical information to stakeholders, influence decision-makers, and support strategic change.
* IT literate and capable of analysing data from various sources to assess asset performance, prioritise improvements, and support business objectives while balancing whole-life cost with risk and regulatory compliance.

Benefits

* A generous annual leave package of 26 days, increasing to 30 days after four years of service, plus 8 bank holidays.
* A competitive pension scheme with up to 14% employer contribution, 21% combined, and life cover.
* Up to 10.5% performance-related bonus scheme and recognition awards for outstanding achievements.
* A comprehensive healthcare plan through the company-funded scheme.
* Wellbeing and lifestyle benefits including gym discounts, mental health support, and employee assistance.
