Job Title: Tower Crane Technician – Self-Erecting Cranes (Depot & Field-Based)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Location: Colne, Lancashire (with national travel and overnight stays as required)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm (30-minute unpaid lunch break). Overtime available, including out-of-hours field work when needed.

About the Company:
Falcon Tower Crane Services is part of the Falcon Group – the UK’s largest tower crane supplier and one of the largest globally, operating nearly 450 tower cranes. We’re also part of a wider group offering power generation and freight services across the UK. Due to our continued growth, we are seeking a skilled and committed Self Erecting Tower Crane Technician to join our team, focusing on self-erecting cranes both at our depot and on-site.
The successful applicant should have previous experience working as a Plant Technician within the Construction Industry.
The Role:
As a Self-Erecting Tower Crane Technician, you will work within our dedicated Self-Erecting Tower Crane Department. You will be responsible for:
7. Erecting and dismantling self-erecting tower cranes
8. Servicing our fleet of self-erecting tower cranes
9. Working collaboratively within the Self-Erecting Tower Crane Department
10. Travelling across the UK and working away from home as and when required
What We’re Looking For:
Essential Experience & Qualifications:
11. Previous experience working as a Plant Technician within the construction industry
12. NVQ Level 2 in Plant Maintenance
13. NVQ Level 2 in Engineering
14. Full, clean UK Driving Licence
Desirable:
15. Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671 (18th Edition)
Key Skills & Personal Attributes:
16. Experience in fault finding and problem solving
17. Competence with 3-phase electrical supplies, low voltage AC and DC control circuits, and PLC systems
18. Understanding of hydraulic systems
19. Ability to follow manufacturer guidelines and safe systems of work
20. Able to work independently and as part of a team
21. Clear communication and strong customer service skills
22. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure
23. Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions (PPE provided)
24. Flexible approach to working hours and tasks
25. Commitment to safety and following company procedures
26. Physically fit and confident working at height
27. Positive attitude, good timekeeping, and a desire to learn and develop
