Pay and Additional Payments
This role pays starting from £14.18 an hour. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.
Min guaranteed hours: 16 hours a week. You can request fewer hours, down to a minimum of 12.
Availability windows are the periods you’re expected to be available. Shifts will be scheduled within these times with a three week notice.
Customers are at the heart of everything we do. As a Customer Delivery Driver you’ll meet customers in their homes, delivering with a smile. It’s more than driving – it’s about helping others and providing great service.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the van and trays are clean, tidy and organised.
- Keep the back yard clean, tidy and clear of rubbish, picking up litter as needed.
- Wash trays according to the tray wash process.
- Load the van as required, checking the van for roadworthiness.
- Talk to the customer about changes to their order, including short-code items and substitutions, and offer refunds for dissatisfied items.
- Take care of products and deliveries as if they were your own.
- Explain to the customer that they will not be charged for substitutions.
- Deliver during the customer’s time slot.
- Call the customer before arriving if you are early.
- Call the store or centre if running 30 or more minutes late.
Qualifications
- Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit.
- Be warm and welcoming in interactions with customers and colleagues, taking time to understand the customer and say “Thank you.”
- Act quickly to respond to changing customer needs and embrace change within the store.
- Be energetic and driven to deliver beyond expectations, balancing home and work.
- Share ideas with your Manager and other colleagues to improve the store for customers.
- Hold a valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (full or automatic) for at least 12 months with no more than three penalty points.
