Job Description

If you’re a Real Estate Senior Solicitor or Associate thinking carefully about where the market is heading — and where your career will be most secure over the next decade — renewables has to be at the top of that list.

Energy transition is not a short-term trend. Investment into renewable infrastructure continues at pace, government policy is driving development, and funders remain heavily committed to the sector. In simple terms, renewables work is one of the most resilient and future-proof areas of real estate practice. If you’re looking to pivot or deepen your focus into a sector with long-term security, consistent deal flow and real strategic importance, this is exactly the kind of opportunity you should be considering.
I’m working with a top-tier Scottish firm whose Real Estate practice is widely regarded as a market leader. Their renewables-focused team is heavily involved in some of the largest and most innovative energy projects in Scotland and continues to grow as demand increases. This is high-profile, high-value work with clients that include developers, landowners, investors and lenders, often delivered alongside major City firms on complex cross-border transactions involving Scottish assets.
The breadth of technologies is impressive. You’ll advise on projects spanning onshore and offshore wind, hydro and pumped storage, solar, tidal, battery storage, biomass and district heating schemes. The work regularly involves rural land, strategic development sites and large-scale infrastructure projects, requiring careful structuring of options, leases, servitudes, access rights and title matters. You’ll also support acquisitions, disposals and financings of operational and pipeline assets.
This is a fast-paced, commercially sharp environment where you’ll be front and centre in transactions that quite literally shape Scotland’s landscape. You’ll build direct relationships with clients, work closely with colleagues across disciplines and be encouraged to take an active role in networking and business development. The team is ambitious and outward-looking, and they are keen to bring in someone who sees renewables not just as an interesting niche, but as a core long-term specialism.
If you’re a real estate solicitor who wants to future-proof your career, align yourself with a growth sector and work on projects that are visible, impactful and strategically critical, this is the role to explore.
For a confidential discussion about making that move into (or further within) renewables, get in touch with Neil at QED Legal.
