Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) to join our team at Betgoodwin / Goodwin Racing Ltd, based in Uckfield.
As a family-run business operating within the regulated gambling industry, we take our legal and regulatory responsibilities seriously. The MLRO will be required to serve as the business's nominated officer under the relevant regulatory requirements.
This is a senior role, requiring strong expertise in AML frameworks, proven leadership ability, and the confidence to act as the main point of contact with the Gambling Commission, the NCA, and other regulatory or enforcement bodies.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the company's nominated officer (MLRO) with full responsibility for anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (AML/CTF) oversight.
* Prepare, review, and submit Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) to the NCA.
* Oversee the company's AML framework, including risk assessments, policies, and controls, ensuring they are up-to-date and effective.
* Lead the development and implementation of AML strategy across the business, providing guidance and direction to staff at all levels.
* Report to and advise senior management on AML/CTF risks, emerging trends, and regulatory changes.
* Act as the primary point of contact with regulators and law enforcement agencies in relation to AML/CTF matters.
* Conduct audits and quality assurance checks on AML-related activity carried out by staff.
* Deliver training and awareness programmes to staff, ensuring AML obligations and red flags are understood across the business.
* Ensure robust record-keeping of AML/CTF decisions, reviews, and reporting obligations in line with regulatory requirements.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of AML/CTF developments, including completion of relevant CPD and training.
Requirements
* Proven experience in AML/CTF, financial crime, or regulatory compliance within the gambling industry.
* Strong knowledge of the Money Laundering Regulations, Proceeds of Crime Act, Gambling Commission LCCP, and relevant guidance.
* Must be able to hold (or already hold) a Personal Management Licence (PML).
* Strong analytical, investigative, and risk assessment skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication, with confidence in liaising with regulators and senior stakeholders.
* Ability to work independently in a senior capacity, managing multiple priorities and making sound judgements.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other analytical tools is desirable.
* Personal attributes: integrity, discretion, resilience under pressure, and the ability to lead by example.

Pay: £45,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
