Overview

A Vacancy at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting time for the Trauma and Orthopaedics Clinical Nurse Specialist and Specialty Support Nurse team at CUH. We have a new Band 6 post providing opportunity to come and join us. Our dynamic, motivated team of specialist nurses work across both trauma and elective patient pathways to provide the highest standards of evidence-based care. We are a busy major trauma centre for the whole region with a hugely variable caseload of major trauma patients to support through their admission, inpatient care and discharge. This role will primarily support the Orthopaedic trauma unit – alongside junior / senior trauma fellows & consultants with aspects of supporting throughout the team. These clinically based roles will require you to complete clinical assessment and examination skills modules. We are an integral part of various inpatient and outpatient services within our specialty. These include the Multiprofessional Fracture Clinic – a remote clinic supported by clinicians and ourselves. These services require a varied skillset to allow triaging of patients by phone and providing advice and reassurance with treatment plans.

This is a varied role for the right candidate. We are looking for self-motivated nurses with current experience in trauma and orthopaedics who are keen to further develop their knowledge and skills.

The post holder is responsible for the provision of high quality, patient focused care. Responsible for assessing, developing and implementing specialist nursing care programmes. Responsible for providing specialist advice and support to, and liaising with, other staff.

Immigration and eligibility

Due to Home Office immigration rules, a full time permanent vacancy cannot be filled by individuals on a Student visa. Therefore, if you are a Student visa holder, we will not be able to offer you a full time permanent contract unless you have: applied for a Graduate visa; or you will have successfully completed your course and have applied for a Graduate visa before the anticipated start date of your employment; or the Trust has agreed that they will Sponsor you as a Skilled Worker and you will complete your studies within 3 months of the anticipated start date of employment.
