The Role – What You’ll Do
• Plan and deliver high-quality Maths lessons at KS4–KS5, aligned with current specifications and best practice.
• Use assessment for learning, targeted feedback, and data-informed intervention to secure excellent progress.
• Support enrichment such as maths challenges, competitions, problem-solving clubs, and extension programmes.
• Contribute to schemes of work, shared resources, and exam preparation including mock exams and revision strategies.
• Maintain a purposeful classroom culture with high expectations for behaviour, effort, and attainment.
• Play a positive role in the wider life of the school, including tutoring, open evenings, and Sixth Form activities.
Person Specification
Essential
• Degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject.
• QTS/PGCE (or equivalent) with successful experience at KS4 and/or KS5.
• Strong subject knowledge across pure, applied, and statistical mathematics.
• Evidence of effective teaching, strong classroom practice, and clear communication.
• Commitment to safeguarding, inclusivity, and student wellbeing.
Desirable
• Experience teaching A-Level Mathematics or Further Mathematics.
• Evidence of raising attainment and supporting high-achieving learners.
• Experience running enrichment or competitions (UKMT, Olympiads).
• Willingness to support university and career guidance in STEM pathways.
