Non-Working Scaffolding Supervisor
Location: Hertfordshire (Office-Based)
Region Covered: Hertfordshire / London / South East
A well-established Hertfordshire-based scaffolding contractor is seeking an experienced Non-Working Scaffolding Supervisor to oversee multi-site scaffolding operations across the South East.
This role is office-based with regular site interface and is focused on operational control, compliance, and programme delivery rather than hands-on scaffolding work.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide operational supervision of scaffolding works across multiple live construction sites
2. Ensure all scaffolding activities are carried out in accordance with TG20, SG4, NASC guidance, and project-specific RAMS
3. Monitor site compliance with HSE legislation, company procedures, and client requirements
4. Coordinate labour, plant, and materials to meet programme and productivity targets
5. Liaise with project managers, site managers, and clients to ensure effective planning and sequencing of works
6. Use Primavera P6 (or similar planning software) to track progress, update programmes, and report on delivery status
7. Conduct site inspections, audits, and toolbox talks as required
8. Identify operational issues and implement corrective actions to minimise delays and non-conformances
9. Promote a proactive safety culture and maintain high standards of workmanship
Technical & Professional Requirements
10. Proven supervisory or management experience within the scaffolding or construction sector
11. Strong technical knowledge of scaffolding systems, temporary works, and access solutions
12. Experience managing multiple projects concurrently across different locations
13. Competent user of Primavera P6 or equivalent project planning software
14. Strong understanding of UK health & safety legislation and best practice
15. Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills
Desirable Qualifications
16. SMSTS or SSSTS
17. NEBOSH Construction or equivalent
18. CISRS Supervisor / Advanced Scaffolder (advantageous but not essential)
