Starting salary for this role is £39,152 (pro rata for part-time colleagues). This position sits within a well‑defined pay band, offering clear progression as you grow your career at BCP. Role Overview
We are recruiting a Newly Qualified Social Worker (ASYE) to join the BCP Children’s Social Care teams in Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole, Dorset. This is a full‑time or part‑time, permanent position starting on 7th September 2026. The role will involve working across Assessment, Child in Care and Child Health and Disability teams to provide high‑quality support for children and families.
Assessment Team
As part of an Assessment Team you will:
* Complete single assessments within statutory timescales, from referral to case closure.
* Facilitate family network meetings and promote positive change.
* Work to a four‑week turnaround, meeting the 20‑day statutory limit.
Child in Care Team
In this team you will:
* Partner with carers, families and agencies to develop and review care plans.
* Ensure each child receives the highest standard of care and support.
* Impact the lives of up to 500 children and young people, including care‑experienced young adults aged 18–25.
Child Health & Disability Team (CHAD)
In CHAD you will:
* Provide long‑term support to children with complex disabilities and risks.
* Work with those subject to Child in Need and Child Protection plans.
* Use restorative practice frameworks, safety planning and early permanence planning.

* Experience of working with children, young people and families, ideally in a final statutory placement.
