With a strong Confirmed Order Book and a growing pipeline of multidisciplinary Renewable Energy Infrastructure Projects—including On-shore Wind, Major Substations, Transmission & Distribution Reinforcing Works, On-shore and Off-shore Wind Infrastructure, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)—we are expanding our team in Glasgow.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Support the production of design packages for concept, tender, and detailed design phases of renewable energy projects, focusing on:
* Wind, transmission, or other renewable energy project infrastructure access design considering buildability, transport standards, environmental constraints, and statutory approvals.
* Site layout and route options for planning approval and environmental impact assessments.
* Bridge and retaining structure geometry, considering structural form and flooding levels, and coordinating geotechnical and structural design.
* Catchment assessments, culvert hydraulic design, and obtaining relevant authorizations.
* Sustainable drainage design for rural or urban sites, including statutory consultations and authorizations.
* Public highway design concepts or detailed designs, including geometry, drainage, signage, markings, swept-path analysis, and construction details for electrical component delivery, with road authority consultation and consent.
* Assist in preparing tender submission packages, including multidisciplinary design statements and presentation drawings.
* Assist with compilation of as-built drawings and records.
* From design concept to detailed stage, be aware of health, safety, and environmental hazards, working with the project team to develop hazard mitigation strategies.
* Serve as the point of contact for clients on selected work packages and contribute to project meetings.
* Implement relevant company project management quality processes.
* Maintain awareness of and support the attainment of financial targets related to personal utilization.
* Seek guidance and feedback from colleagues, maintaining ownership of work tasks to ensure timely and accurate completion.
* Develop capability to present, discuss, and develop own technical work for checking and approval.
* Participate in and contribute to regular team meetings.
Who We’re Looking For
* Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant software packages such as Civils 3D, Flow, Micro-drainage.
Technical Attributes
* Experience in modeling and analysis of linear construction using Civils 3D.
* Design and application skills for drainage pipe networks, attenuation systems, and culvert modeling software.
* Knowledge of DMRB and Local Road Standards for assessing or developing access solutions.
* Ability to produce engineering drawings, technical reports, and calculations of high quality and clarity.
Qualifications
* HND or HNC in Civil Engineering or a similar qualification.
* BTEC (or equivalent) Certificate or Diploma in Civil Engineering or related discipline, or working towards such qualification.
