Argoed High School is a highly successful, 11-16 comprehensive with an excellent reputation in the community. We are seeking to recruit new exam invigilators to work with the existing team in the running of all internal and public examinations at the school. The post would be suited to applicants who are able to work flexible daytime hours (from just two hours per day to a full school day.) Full training will be provided and working hours will be negotiated for each exam period directly with the Exam Officer.
Duties would include:
• Assisting with setting-up examination rooms by laying out stationery, equipment and examination papers in accordance with strict procedures
• Assisting candidates prior to the start of examinations by directing them to their seats and advising them about possessions permitted in examination rooms
• Offering advice and guidance to unregistered candidates without allocated seats
• Checking attendance and recording details of late arrivals and early leavers
• Ensuring that candidates do not talk once inside examination rooms
• Invigilating during examinations, dealing with queries raised by candidates and dealing with examination irregularities in accordance with strict procedures
• Escorting candidates from examination rooms during the examinations as required and supervising candidates whilst outside examination rooms
• Collecting and collating scripts at the end of the examination in accordance with strict procedures
• Assisting with the preparation of script envelopes • Supervising candidates leaving examination venues, ensuring that candidates do not remove equipment or stationery from the room without authorisation and ensuring that candidates leave venues in an orderly and quiet manner.
