A well-established and highly regarded law firm is seeking a motivated Finance Officer to join their finance team. This role would suit someone who is currently studying for an accounting qualification who has a transactional experience and is keen to develop their experience within a professional services environment, with a structured development plan and study support available.

Finance Officer - About the role
Working closely with senior members of the finance team, you will be responsible for supporting the financial operations of the firm. The role includes, managing daily finance transactions, supporting month and year end processes, compliance with regulatory requirements and effective financial controls, as well as supporting with short- and long-term financial planning. Key responsibilities will include:
Support the management of all accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
Performing daily bank reconciliations and banking activities
Processing client payments and receipts via online banking and other payment methods
Assisting with cashflow monitoring and reporting
Supporting month-end and year-end finance processes
Assisting with credit control activities where required
Supporting financial compliance within a regulated environment
Preparing financial reports for senior management
Support the Strategic Finance Manager with firm wide budgets and financial planning
Handling internal finance queries and supporting the wider finance team with administrative duties
The successful Finance Officer will have:
Experience of working in a finance role with demonstratable experience of managing daily accounting independently
Studying towards a professional accounting qualification
Experience of working in a regulated environment (Solicitors Accounts Rules or Legal sector) ideal
Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
Good organisational and time management skills
Confident communication skills, both written and verbal
A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and develop within a professional finance team
