Overview
We are looking for a Graduate Electrical Engineer to join a Chartered Building Services Design Consultancy based in Carlisle. We are looking for Graduate Electrical Engineers who have come straight from university and live locally, or an Electrician looking to move into design. We are looking for a degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering who wants to develop a career in Building Services Design.
Key Responsibilities
You will work on a wide range of new build and refurbishment projects in the North West of England, especially around Carlisle, Lancaster and Preston. Sectors include:
* Education
* Residential
* Healthcare
* Industrial
* Defence
* Commercial
Projects include hospitals, student accommodation, university buildings, council developments, and more.
You will be working alongside Senior Engineers and a very experienced Associate, fully supported in your development and progression within the Building Services sector. You will be exposed to the commercial elements of the job and sit in front of the client from early stages.
Qualifications
You will need a Degree in Building Services or Electrical Engineering at a minimum or an installation electrician background with ONC/HNC qualifications. Most importantly, you should be enthusiastic about electrical design, low‑carbon technologies, and helping to shape smarter, more efficient buildings. A passion for sustainable solutions and Net Zero strategy would be a real advantage.
Training and Development
You will be trained in the use of software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Electrical OM, and Dialux/Relux. Prior knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit or another relevant software from your course would be helpful, but not essential.
