Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Technician to ensure the maximum availability and reliability of production equipment at Britvic. Responsibilities include attending to machine breakdowns, performing maintenance, maintaining utilities, and leading initiatives to reduce utilities usage and improve reliability.
Key Responsibilities
* Implement the Engineering department's vision and strategies supporting site development in line with the Britvic Work System.
* Perform duties responsibly, adhering to health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures, including safety roles like Fire Marshall, LOTO, PTW, etc.
* Comply with legal and statutory requirements such as PUWER, Electricity at Work, COSHH, LOLER, and others.
* Promote a safe working environment and ensure compliance with SHE and LOTO policies.
* Organize and execute shutdown work, coordinate with external suppliers, and support inspections.
* Take ownership of reliability performance, including KPI accountability.
* Utilize Lean Principles (TPM, RCM, RCA, PDCA, 5S, 5-Why) to drive improvements.
* Develop engineering solutions, promote performance culture, and collaborate with operational teams.
* Maintain the Planned Maintenance System (SAP PM) and update SOPs and training materials.
* Participate in personal development and training activities.
* Proactively address engineering services and support capital projects.
Requirements
* Practical engineering/technical experience with a track record in maintenance, strong communication skills.
* Multi-skilled background with electrical bias, capable of diagnosing and solving machine issues.
* Experience managing contractors, reviewing risk assessments, and understanding site utilities.
* Experience with continuous improvement programs.

Education and Qualifications
Must haves:
* NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or equivalent.
* Knowledge of Quality, HSE, Food Safety, and good communication skills.
* Analytical skills, IT literacy, and understanding of 'right first time'.
Desirable:
* HNC in Engineering or equivalent, multi-disciplinary skills, IET 18th Edition, SAP PM knowledge, industry experience, TPM certification, and training/ coaching abilities.
