Overview
Associate Director - Transport Engineering at SLR Consulting. This role is based in London or Manchester and leads on delivering complex highway and infrastructure projects, with a focus on project execution, business development, and team growth.
Responsibilities
* Lead on managing project execution for a wide range of transport/infrastructure projects.
* Develop and pursue business opportunities from new and existing clients.
* Act as a project manager to deliver complex infrastructure projects and manage proposals.
* Mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers; collaborate with sector and client leads across the business.
* Contribute to strategic direction, planning, and development of the team; recruit and build capacity.
* Work across other disciplines within SLR (Advisory, Environmental Management and Compliance, Land and Water, Environmental Specialist Services Groups) as needed.
Qualifications
* Solid track record in managing projects and teams in UK highways and infrastructure.
* Proven business development capabilities and ability to win and deliver work with existing and new clients.
* Experience leading teams of professional, engineering and operational staff; proposal and tender writing experience.
* Strong leadership, project management, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills; experience mentoring staff.
* Knowledge of UK engineering guidance.
* Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
* Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers or equivalent.
* Full, current UK driving licence.
* Procurement and specification writing experience.
