Were working with a successful SME in the construction industry who are looking to appoint an experienced Finance Manager. This is a broad and hands-on role with responsibility for day-to-day financial management, reporting, and supporting the leadership team with decision-making.
Key responsibilities
* Oversee bookkeeping, sales and purchase ledger, reconciliations, and payment runs
* Manage bank postings, reconciliations, and online banking
* Preparation of accruals, prepayments, journals, and balance sheet reconciliations
* Project costing and analysis to support operational teams
* Preparation of accurate and timely management accounts
* Credit control and VAT returns, including partial exemption
* Liaise with external accountants and HMRC to ensure compliance
* Provide financial insight to senior management and contribute to business planning
What were looking for
* AAT Qualified or part-qualified accountant
* Experience working SME businesses
* Strong background in the construction sector, with understanding of industry processes and compliance
* Proficient in Xero and Excel
* A hands-on manager able to build strong relationships across the business
* Organised, dependable, and commercially minded
