The Opportunity
Are you an experienced engineering leader with a strategic approach to maintenance & engineering?
Have you demonstrated the power that great maintenance can have to help deliver improved safety, quality, and performance across a large production site? Are you a modern M&E professional that demonstrates strong collaboration across departments to transform results? Are you ready to steer M&E through a period of growth and transformation?
How would you add value
* You will be responsible for site Maintenance & Engineering, leading & developing the M&E roadmap onsite as we grow, working with UK peers to chart the course towards world-class maintenance and engineering practices, including the Arla Performance System, dairy industry-specific topics, and dairy product production.
* Lead in developing, anchoring, and role-modeling a culture of lean/safety/quality/food safety/sustainability/digital/continuous improvement.
* Develop the M&E department to ensure reliability and capability using the Arla-specific CMMS and OEE, analyzing data to implement effective maintenance strategies and continuous improvements.
* Manage budgets within the framework set by corporate finance, including targets and forecasting, and control the deployment of the annual maintenance budget.
* As part of the Site Leadership Team, contribute to strategic initiatives and plans for the site.
* Provide technical input, collaboration, and budget proposals for CAPEX applications, and oversee the execution of small CAPEX projects within budgets, supporting major investments like the “Baldur Project” and “All purpose Whey”.
What do I need?
* Strong leadership experience managing a M&E department with around 30 engineers, capable of coaching, motivating, and inspiring team members.
* Robust understanding of M&E in automated, fast-moving manufacturing environments, with a focus on safety and compliance.
* Proven experience in M&E-focused continuous improvement methodologies (TPM, WCM preferred).
* Experience in culture-led change management and creating positive organizational change.
* Ability to demonstrate urgency in meeting business needs while maintaining long-term strategic goals.
