We're recruiting for a Pig Manager for a family-run farming business in Dorset DT2.
The performance-driven farm seeks to employ a hands-on, performance-driven individual who can motivate and lead a team of four.
This position ideally suits someone with 5+ years of experience, but the producer would look at less experienced applicants and those looking to step up to be a manager.
A proven track record and a strong work ethic to maintain an existing high performance is a must.
The pig unit has 1100 sows with progeny up to 7kg, fully indoor systems with automatic wet feed systems and fully ventilated housing.
Candidates need to demonstrate:
* Experience working with and managing livestock is essential
* Motivation with the desire for continuous improvement
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team
* Passion for farming, determination and capability with an excellent eye for detail
* Experience in working within a fast-paced environment
* Willingness to learn new skills
* Good understanding of IT systems, including MS Word and Excel (would be an advantage)
* Good time management skills
Starting Salary: From £40,000 DOE
Plus:
* 28 days holiday, including bank holidays

* 3-bed family housing
Hours: 12 days on, two days off every 2nd weekend.
