Equiliem is seeking a LPN / LVN for a local contract job in Wayland, New York.
Job Description & Requirements

Summary Of Need
As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will care for people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, such as Down syndrome and Cerebral palsy. You would be involved in the treatment of people with developmental disabilities under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).
Job Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To
* Administer medications and injections.
* Perform tube feedings.
* Hang IVs
* Collect blood samples, if certified for venipuncture.
* Provide colostomy care.
* Observe patients and report changes in their condition.
* Take and record temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure.
* Obtain specimens for analysis and perform other medical procedures as ordered by a physician.
* Prepare and apply simple dressings.
* Bathe and feed; and care for people and their homes by performing such tasks as making beds, changing linen, lifting and moving people and caring for their personal effects.
Qualifications
* Licensed Practical Nurse in New York State.
* At least 1-year current experience working in long-term care or hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with the developmentally disabled patients.
* Highly motivated, independent thinker and self-starter.
* Enthusiastic team player.
* Excellent organizational, planning, and interpersonal skills.
* Able to manage multiple projects. Strong follow-up and communication skills.
* Excellent computer skills. (Word processing, office scheduling, familiar with Windows).
Hours: 8 to 12 hours shifts available. To be discussed more at interview.
Mostly Evenings, and Nights available, Every other weekend, with some holidays.
Length of Assignment: Up to 2 years.
