Role: Early Career Teacher
Location: Sleaford, Lincolnshire
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Flexible temporary roles (full-time, part-time, day-to-day, short-term and long-term)
Salary: £32,916-£45,351 per annum (depending on experience and/or qualifications)
About the role
If you are qualifying this September and wondering what comes next, this Early Career Teacher role is a brilliant way to step into teaching without locking yourself into one setting too soon. Heart of Supply is excited to be advertising opportunities for Early Career Teachers who want to build confidence, gain classroom experience and explore a range of schools across Lincolnshire.
Working as an Early Career Teacher on supply gives you real choice. You can take on day to day cover, short term roles or longer placements across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, depending on what works best for you. You will arrive to clear lesson plans, friendly teams and a clear aim to keep learning ticking along when the usual class teacher is away. Each school offers something different, which means no two days ever feel the same.
This role suits an Early Career Teacher who enjoys variety and wants to learn quickly on the job. One placement might see you supporting early reading in Reception, while another has you keeping a KS2 class focused and motivated. Every experience helps you grow, sharpen your skills and work out what type of setting feels like the right long-term fit, all while gaining valuable experience with Heart of Supply.
About the schools
At Heart of Supply, we work closely with a broad mix of welcoming primary schools across Lincolnshire. These include both local authority and academy settings, all focused on creating a calm, positive day for pupils and staff. The schools we support are well organised, well resourced and used to working with supply teachers who can step in confidently and feel part of the team from the moment they arrive.
Because we take the time to really get to know each school, we are able to place teachers into environments that suit their experience, preferences and teaching style. Some schools need short notice cover for a day, while others are looking for someone who can return regularly or stay longer term. Either way, the goal is the same. Keeping learning consistent, classrooms settled and pupils supported.
For teachers, this means gaining hands-on experience in supportive settings and building relationships across different schools. For schools, it means having reliable teachers they trust and are happy to welcome back.
What you will need:
* QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and recent experience in a UK primary setting
* A nurturing, flexible teaching approach with the ability to connect quickly with pupils across EYFS, KS1 or KS2
* Confident classroom presence with strong behaviour management rooted in positive reinforcement
* The ability to follow pre-set work while bringing your own creativity and energy to the classroom
* Clear communication, a proactive attitude, and the ability to build rapport with pupils and staff alike
* A minimum of 6 weeks’ teaching experience in the UK
We’re fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. All applicants will undergo thorough vetting, including enhanced DBS (with children’s barred list check and Update Service registration), references, and online checks as part of our compliance process.
What we offer you:
* Competitive weekly PAYE pay
* Roles tailored to your lifestyle - day-to-day or longer term
* Access to exclusive opportunities in great local schools
* A friendly, experienced consultant who listens
* Free CPD and ongoing professional development
* A simple ‘Refer a Friend’ scheme
