We are seeking a part‑time Catholic Religious Education Coordinator in support of the US Air Force at RAF Lakenheath. The coordinator will serve as teacher, facilitator, and organizer of the Catholic religious education program for the RAF Lakenheath Catholic Parish.
Responsibilities
* Oversee Catholic Religious Education Program. Develop and maintain the RAF Lakenheath Chapel Catholic RE Program for all parishioners. Ensure facility requests for RE programs in Chaplain Corps and other base facilities are submitted and processed in a timely manner. Prepare and maintain supplies, consumables, and RE resources. Coordinate the annual Vacation Bible School (VBS) or equivalent program.
* Program Marketing. Coordinate and arrange effective advertisements for RE programs and events, ensuring compliance with copyright laws.
* Administrative Functions. Attend meetings to report on RE activities, events, and budget updates. Assist with development of annual calendar, tithes and offerings fund budget, appropriated fund budget, volunteer training requirements, and other program documents. Record attendance and submit after‑action reports within specified timelines. Prepare sacramental records for submission to the Archdiocese for the Military Services (AMS).
* Budgeting. Execute and electronically track the approved budget.
* Volunteer Coordination. Recruit, train, and manage volunteers. Provide recommendations for volunteer recognition. Ensure background checks, adult supervision, and required badge wear for all staff working with minors. Maintain electronic attendance records for participants and volunteers.
Qualifications
* Minimum of 1 year of Catholic RE leadership experience, preferably directing a program in a Catholic Church or military chapel setting.
* Practicing Catholic in good standing, having received the sacrament of confirmation and possessing a clear understanding of Catholic doctrines and worship practices.
* Ability to work constructively in a multi‑faith environment.
* Strong organizational and program management skills.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Basic budgeting knowledge.
* Proficiency in social media, print, and email marketing to promote Chapel programs.
Education and Certifications
* High‑school diploma or equivalent.
