Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our maintenance team for a skilled Small Works Engineer. This role involves the installation, commissioning, maintenance, repair and occasional surveying of various Automatic Opening Vent (AOV) and fire alarm systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality work to our clients, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
* Install, commission, maintain, and carry out fault-finding/repairs on AOV and fire alarm systems.
* Work with smoke ventilation systems, including inverters, fans, and dampers.
* Visit client sites primarily within the M25, with occasional nationwide travel and overnight stays as required.
* Work to tight deadlines while maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety compliance.
* Participate in the company’s out-of-hours callout rota, responding to emergency breakdowns as needed.
* Liaise with clients and the internal team to ensure smooth project delivery.

* Proven experience with fire alarm systems
* Experience within smoke ventilation systems would be a benefit, although training can be provided.
* Working knowledge of inverters, fans, and dampers preferred.
* Ability to commission open protocol fire panels to a C&E level
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Flexibility to travel and stay away from home when required.
* Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Qualifications
* FIA training or equivalent fire alarm qualifications.
* CSCS/ECS card.
* IPAF/PASMA certification.
