Salary: £12.75 per hour
Hours: 585 hours, worked on a rota throughout the year. The role will require weekday, weekend, bank holiday and some out of season availability. Hours worked each month may vary due to seasonal demand however, the salary is paid in 12 equal payments throughout the year.
Contract: Permanent

What it's like to work here
Barrington Court is situated on the edge of Barrington village in South Somerset. It was the first estate and manor house that the National Trust acquired in 1907. The property has 2 manor houses, formal gardens inspired by Gertrude Jekyll, kitchen garden, lawns, avenues, orchards, arboretum, large book barn, shop, independent trading artisan workshops and café.
The 16th Century Tudor Court House is currently closed to visitors for the Barrington Court Revival Project. The 17th Century Strode House is open to visitors on the ground floor.
The property is currently open 7 days a week from mid-February until the end of October and open weekends only from November to mid-February.

What you'll be doing
Reporting to the Senior Visitor Experience Officer, you will be part of an enthusiastic, supportive team working at Barrington Court.
The role of Service Team Member is varied and requires adaptability as no day will be the same and you will be required to work flexibly. The role will be based mainly outdoors and will involve at times some lifting and handling. You will be directly involved in maintaining high presentation standards by cleaning and clearing visitor areas.
You will assist other onsite teams when needed, this will include; welcome visitors at the reception, providing information for their visit, sharing knowledge about the site and the National Trust, talk about membership, and selling it, serve and sell refreshments in the tea room, supporting in the National Trust shop, support with the setup of visitor trails, sorting books for the book barn, supporting the garden team with watering.
