We're looking for a technically strong and analytical Performance Support Engineer to support our maintenance depots in driving measurable improvements across fleet reliability, process efficiency and individual performance.
This is a key engineering role focused on turning performance data into practical, operational improvements that reduce failures and strengthen depot capability.
What You'll Be Responsible For
* Monitoring, recording and analysing fleet performance data (Bugle, TRUST, XV and other systems)
* Identifying trends and failure modes to inform technical and production decisions
* Investigating and producing performance and safety-related reports
* Providing engineering expertise to production teams
* Coaching and developing depot staff to improve fault‑finding capability
* Delivering specialist technical mentoring and training
* Supporting fleet incident management, including on‑call duties where required

What You'll Bring
* HNC (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline
* Minimum 3 years' experience within traction & rolling stock
* Strong technical knowledge of rolling stock maintenance standards
* Understanding of railway operating, safety and performance systems
* Excellent analytical and data interpretation skills
* High attention to detail and strong IT capability
* Confident communicator able to influence operational teams
