Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Phantom Works is seeking a Senior Consultant Low Observable (LO) Design & Integration Engineer to join our team in Berkeley, MO.
Phantom Works is Boeing Defense’s advanced design division responsible for designing, building, and testing future capabilities for national defense. This position supports multiple proprietary programs within the Phantom Works Fixed Wing Prototype & Test organization.
The Senior Consultant LO Design & Integration Engineer will provide technical leadership in configuration design, trade studies, LO system design, integration, and test validation. The ideal candidate should understand advanced concepts and prototypes related to communication, sensor, electronic warfare, and electromagnetic systems.
This role offers the opportunity to work on stealth materials and technologies as part of an integrated product team, applying electromagnetic theory to develop innovative stealth systems for next-generation platforms. The job involves both hands-on work and desk work.
This position also involves leadership and mentorship to early career engineers, fostering innovative problem-solving approaches.
Position Responsibilities
* Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for low observable technologies development and integration
* Recommend technological applications to achieve strategic objectives
* Lead efforts to resolve issues in new technology development and implementation
* Apply and develop advanced technologies, principles, and standards for problem-solving
* Consult with suppliers and customers to ensure technical compliance
Additional responsibilities may include:
* Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams in design, fabrication, and testing
* Communicate results and project status to stakeholders
* Review LO technical specifications, procedures, and reports for quality
* Provide leadership across multiple projects and activities
This position is expected to be 100% onsite at the specified location. Travel up to 10% domestically may be required. The role requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required) and the ability to obtain and maintain SAP clearance.
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, chemistry, mathematics, data science, or computer science
* 15+ years of relevant engineering experience
* Extensive experience with electromagnetic theory and low observable systems design
* Recognition as an authority in low observable materials, design techniques, and electromagnetic analysis
Additional Information
Education typically includes advanced degrees with 20+ years of experience or equivalent, with ABET accreditation preferred. The role is for 1st shift, with relocation support for eligible candidates. The salary range is $177,650 - $240,350, and applications are accepted until May 2, 2025.
