First Military Recruitment is proudly working in partnership with a fantastic International Defence business that is looking to recruit multiple Weapons Trainers on a permanent basis due to growth, based at their Lyneham depot.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Train highly motivated students in all aspects of the trade, including stripping, assembling, fault finding, and repairs on current in-service weapon systems.
2. Work as part of a motivated team, enjoying high job satisfaction and an excellent work-life balance.
3. Prepare relevant training materials, involving Media and Graphics Department input, to provide effective Weapons Training and maintain personal Course Training Plans (CPD) for new technologies and equipment, ensuring lesson plans align with approved Course Training Plans (CTP).
4. Monitor student development through feedback, discipline, and training interventions, maintaining supporting documentation, and flagging any developmental needs or delays to the Lead Trainer (LT). Deliver remedial training and revisions as necessary.
5. Assess trainees by creating written exams, practical assessments, and continuous evaluations; invigilate examinations and assessments.
6. Deliver high-quality military apprentice training within the existing training team.
7. Maintain responsibility for cleanliness, security, Health, Safety and Welfare (HSW), Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH), environmental and engineering hygiene, ensuring students are aware of these requirements.
8. Supervise students and visitors to ensure compliance with H&S and PPE requirements, assessing and minimizing risks related to equipment training.
9. Ensure procedures are understood and implemented during work tasks.
10. Complete full training culminating in a Level 4 qualification (CET).
Skills and Qualifications:
* Experienced Armourer or multi-skilled mechanical engineer eager for a new challenge.
* Engineering teaching experience in further education.
* Minimum CGLI City & Guilds Part 3 or above, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent military qualification.
* At least 5 years of engineering experience.
* Strong craft/technical skills.
* Proficient in PowerPoint and Word.
* Ability to obtain Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) security clearance.

Salary: £33,000 – £35,000
Working Hours: 07:30am – 4:30pm Mon to Fri (early finish on Wednesday)
