Semester Recruitment specialises in supporting young people aged 5-18 in supported living, semi-independent accommodation, and children’s residential homes.
We are currently looking for Support and Youth Workers to provide ongoing support to Care Leavers in the area.
Great flexibility with shifts and rotas.
Rates from £14.50 an hour and £75 sleep – full and part-time possible.
Our client is a leading provider of care to children and young people in the area, recruiting Support Workers on a long-term temporary basis.
Shifts are typically 24-hour sleepovers, but days and nights are also possible.
Although temporary, this is full-time and ongoing with no end date.
This role involves supporting Care Leavers aged 15-18, helping to increase their independence skills.
It is essential that you have experience working within a similar setting and preferably have completed NVQ3 Children & Young People Workforce or a similar qualification.
Qualifications/Requirements
High standard of general education.
NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care – Children and Young People (CCYP) or equivalent.
Willingness to undertake further training.
Current full driving license with business insurance preferable.
Job Purpose
To be responsible for providing support to vulnerable people (service users) for the company.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
1. Assist the young person’s allocated social worker in delivering the service.
2. Provide transport/escort to young people as directed in line with care plans.
3. Conduct welcome and induction for young people.
4. Ongoing assessments of service users’ needs.
5. Provide ongoing support and monitoring of service users.
6. Assist with welfare and NHS issues.
7. Prepare reports.
8. Arrange appointments with partner agencies.
9. Maintain regular contact with young people.
10. Inform clients of support groups.
11. Assist with move-on processes for service users.
Some shifts may also be 24 hours (sleepovers); great flexibility, with 2-3 days a week being full-time hours. Excellent company with a great team.
