Job Overview
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of machinery and equipment within the facility. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining various systems to prevent downtime and enhance operational efficiency. Duties
* Conduct regular maintenance checks on machinery and equipment to ensure proper functionality.
* Troubleshoot and repair issues related to programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and electrical systems.
* Read and interpret schematics to assist in diagnosing problems and implementing solutions.
* Perform welding tasks as needed to repair or fabricate components.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed.
* Supervise junior maintenance staff, providing guidance and support as necessary.
* Collaborate with other departments to address maintenance needs and improve overall efficiency.
* Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests from staff or management.
Skills
* Proficient in working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and understanding their applications.
* Strong ability to read and interpret schematics for electrical systems.
* Experience in welding techniques for metal fabrication and repair.
* Solid electrical experience with a good understanding of safety protocols.
* Comprehensive mechanical knowledge relevant to machinery operation and maintenance.
* Proven maintenance skills with a focus on preventative measures.
* Proficient in English, both written and verbal, for effective communication.
* Supervising experience is advantageous.
* Strong customer service skills to foster positive relationships within the organisation.
