The firm is seeking an experienced Contentious Construction Lawyer (4-5PQE) to join its London team, advising on high-value and technically complex construction and engineering disputes. You’ll work with a highly regarded group acting for developers, contractors, funders, and public bodies on major UK and international projects, handling disputes across adjudication, arbitration, mediation, and litigation. The team offers end-to-end advice across the construction lifecycle, with close integration between its contentious and non-contentious lawyers. Key responsibilities Advise on and manage construction and engineering disputes, including adjudication, arbitration, mediation, and TCC litigation. Act on disputes arising under JCT, NEC, FIDIC, EPC, and bespoke contracts, covering delay, disruption, defects, payment, and termination claims. Support clients with live project advice, risk management, and dispute avoidance strategies. Work with developers, investors, and contractors on complex infrastructure, housing, and regeneration schemes. Collaborate closely with non-contentious colleagues to deliver joined-up, commercial solutions across procurement, delivery, and asset management. Build trusted, long-term relationships with clients by providing clear, strategic, and commercially sound advice. What you’ll bring Strong experience in contentious construction law, ideally gained within a leading construction, projects, or infrastructure team. Confidence handling adjudications, arbitrations, mediations, or court proceedings. Deep understanding of standard form and bespoke contracts, and the commercial realities of the construction industry.
