About the role
Reporting to the Facilities Plant Supervisor this is an active role delivering critical Facilities Maintenance Services across the Newport site facilities on 2 different rotational shifts (days/nights).
What you will do
1. Ability to carry out fault finding and fault rectification on electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, often using the site BMS to assist with plant operation and identification of problems
2. Operation of Facilities plant and equipment and interrogation of site BMS system
3. Perform and record the results of both planned preventive maintenance and unplanned maintenance on facilities plant and equipment including CHP.
4. Routine monitoring of facilities systems recording shift readings measurements and responding as appropriate
5. Performing repairs to plant and equipment either in-situ or utilising workshop facilities
6. Responding to site alarms and acting appropriately to ensure condition is rectified as soon as possible
7. As part of a team or working on own initiative, ensure scheduled and non-routine maintenance is completed correctly and effectively
8. Take ownership of assigned areas and proactively drive improvements in energy and operational metrics
9. Liaise with Manufacturing/R & M to ensure customer needs are fully met
10. Mentoring of colleagues and sharing of expertise to improve the skill and knowledge of the group
11. Routine testing on a variety of life safety systems including sprinkler and fire alarm systems among others
12. Opportunity for training in all areas as required including but not limited to breathing apparatus, emergency response, BMS, vibration analysis, thermal imaging, etc.
What you will need
13. Engineering Apprenticeship served with ONC or equivalent (desirable) in a related field
14. Experience within the facilities department in a regulated manufacturing environment.
15. Experience with electrical/mechanical fault finding & repair (pumps, fans, steam, etc.)
16. Microsoft Office (word, excel, power point, project) experience essential.
17. A results-oriented individual with high level of attention to detail and strong leadership skills.
18. Capable of establishing and maintaining good contractor/ supplier relationships.
19. Ability to act and react to ever changing business demands in a focussed and efficient manner without loss of focus.
20. Understanding of Cleanroom working principles.
