The Role
1. Day to day Management of Cardiac Ultrasound service on designated Site.
2. Undertakes advanced practice specialist cardiac procedures
3. Will perform and independently report Highly Complex Cardiac Ultrasound Scans and other specialist cardiac investigations.
4. Trains and supervises under graduate & post graduate Cardiac Physiologists and occasionally medical staff in advanced practice specialist procedures including undertaking and reporting Cardiac Ultrasound Scans.

What we'll need you to bring
5. BSc in Clinical Physiology or HNC in Physiological Measurement and additional theoretical knowledge gained either through professional examinations (e.g. Associated membership Society for Cardiological Science and Technology) or in-service experience.
In addition:
6. Experience at senior technician level.
AND
7. Working towards professional accreditations at an advanced level of study to masters level. ie. BSE (British Society of Echocardiography) accreditation exam + 12 month case submission + video review completed several CME accredited courses on Echocardiography. Experience in adult congenital heart disease with experience in teaching and demonstrating. Completes on-going accreditation every 5 years.
OR
8. European Society of Echocardiography accreditation
9. In-service training on basic management skills (e.g. Recruitment, Professional development, Training skills.
10. Advanced/intermediate life support accreditation to the Resuscitation Council.
11. Excellent communication skills
12. IT skills
Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
It would be great if you also have
13. European Society of Echocardiography accreditation
14. Experience in adult congenital heart disease with experience in teaching and demonstrating.

This role will be based in Cardiology Department within University Hospital Hairmyres.
