Job Title: Operations Manager – Food Manufacturing Location: East Lothian, Scotland
Our client are a leading food manufacturing company in East Lothian, known for producing high-quality, innovative products. Our commitment to excellence, sustainability, and customer satisfaction drives everything we do. We are now looking for an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager to join their team and lead their production operations to continued success.

As an Operations Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of their food manufacturing facility, ensuring production runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely. You will be responsible for managing a team, optimizing production processes, maintaining high standards of quality and safety, and driving continuous improvement. Operational Leadership: Manage and lead the daily operations of the production facility, ensuring products are manufactured efficiently, safely, and meet quality standards.
Foster a positive working environment and promote continuous learning and development.
Identify areas for process improvement and implement lean manufacturing practices to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality.
Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and environmental guidelines. Quality Control: Work closely with the quality assurance team to maintain high product quality standards, troubleshoot quality issues, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Inventory and Supply Chain Management: Oversee inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials and supplies. Budget and Cost Management: Monitor and control operational costs, ensuring that production remains within budget while maintaining high standards of output and quality.
Track production performance and provide regular reports to senior management. Use data-driven insights to inform decision-making and improve operational efficiency.
Proven experience in an operations management role within a food manufacturing environment.
In-depth knowledge of food manufacturing processes, health and safety regulations, and quality standards.
Strong problem-solving abilities and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
A strong understanding of inventory and supply chain management.
Relevant qualifications in operations management, food science, or a related field are desirable.
