Job Summary
At Evolve Psychology Services, we empower our clinicians with the tools and support they need to focus on delivering exceptional care to children, young people, and their families. You will join a passionate, multidisciplinary team specialising in high-quality, evidence-based autism and ADHD assessments, through both NHS-funded and private pathways. This role is within our Exeter team and is a hybrid position with part-time and full-time options, requiring a minimum of three days a week. As a Specialist Neurodevelopmental Practitioner, you will contribute to comprehensive neurodevelopmental assessments, helping to ensure timely and accurate diagnoses that lead to appropriate support and improved outcomes for families.
Main duties of the job
* Contribute to high-quality, evidence-based neurodevelopmental assessments for children and young people.
* Conduct structured observations via digital platforms and remote developmental history interviews with parents and carers.
* Actively participate in multidisciplinary team diagnostic discussions, with support from senior clinicians where required.
* Deliver clear, compassionate feedback to families and communicate outcomes and next steps sensitively and effectively.
* Produce accurate clinical reports, including diagnostic formulations, with support of smart tools to improve efficiency and consistency.
* Work to meet service KPIs, ensuring timely assessments and reports that contribute to positive outcomes for families.
* Provide clinical supervision where applicable.
* Be able to travel to a clinic base to conduct in-person assessments (hybrid role).

Role responsibilities
* Conduct face-to-face structured observations as part of the neurodevelopmental assessment process.
* Conduct remote developmental history interviews with parents and carers via Zoom.
* Participate in peer MDT diagnostic discussions with senior clinician support as needed.
* Deliver clear, compassionate feedback to families.
* Produce accurate clinical reports, including diagnostic formulations, with support from AI-assisted tools.
* Work to meet KPIs and contribute to timely clinical delivery.
* Provide clinical supervision where applicable.
* Be able to travel to clinic bases for in-person assessments (hybrid role).
Qualifications and experience
* Minimum of 1 year’s professional registration with HCPC, NMC, GMC, or Social Work England, in relevant fields (e.g., Speech and Language Therapist).
* Minimum of 1 year’s experience conducting diagnostic assessments for autism and/or ADHD in children and young people.
* Strong understanding of differential diagnosis in neurodevelopmental presentations.
* In-depth knowledge of DSM-5 criteria for autism and ADHD.
* Trained and experienced in diagnostic tools such as ADOS-2 and ADI-R, etc.
* Effective time management and caseload organisation skills, with the ability to manage competing demands and meet clinical deadlines.
* Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and participate in collaborative diagnostic discussions.
* Highly developed written language skills for high-quality clinical reports.
* Strong communication skills with children, young people, and families; compassionate, clear, and professional interactions throughout the assessment process.
* Must be eligible to work in the UK.
