Post Title: Graduate Apprentice/Graduate Building Standards Surveyor

Hours: 35 hours per week

Salary: HC03 to HC09 - £23,878.40 to £46,410.00
Salary placement will normally be at the first point of the relevant scale, depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Purpose
This role is suitable for candidates with ambition to develop into a professional grade. Initially, the position will be on a fixed grade basis and will evolve annually as assessments and competencies are achieved.
This is a progressive development pathway towards a building standards surveying role, providing structured skill, knowledge, and competence advancement leading to a qualification in building standards surveying.
Details
* The apprenticeship will be a contractual development program, outlining duties, responsibilities, management, and mentoring.
* Assessment will involve technical reviews by the Building Standards Management Team and the appointed Workplace Mentor, with recommendations to the Head of Infrastructure.
* The starting point is a higher-level school leaver or a practical qualification from further education, with the goal of achieving a BSc (Hons) in Construction and the Built Environment and at least three years of on-the-job training.

Minimum Requirements
* Minimum of 3 Highers at B, B, C or above, including Higher Maths and English at B, and Higher Physics or another science/technical subject at C or above.
* Must meet the entry requirements for the Graduate Apprenticeship in BSc (Hons) Construction and the Built Environment.
* The candidate must undertake a course involving workplace guided learning and self-study.
* Must be able to travel efficiently across Highland to meet operational needs.
