Priest-in-Charge (House for Duty) of the
Benefice of St. John the Baptist, Ault Hucknall and St. Leonard`s, Scarcliffe
(including St. Luke’s, Palterton) and Assistant Curate (to be known as Associate Priest) of St. Mary and St. Laurence, Bolsover
We are seeking a godly, engaging and collaborative leader who:
* will help us grow in number and depth, across the generations, helping us to find our unique, God-given response to the Diocesan Vision.
* Has the ability to communicate the gospel clearly and effectively across the generations and in a range of settings, including local schools.
* Has some experience in multi-Parish ministry across smaller, rural settlements.
* Is committed to working with enthusiastic PCCs and others, growing leaders wherever possible.
* can be a prayerful colleague to St Mary’s and St. Laurence, Bolsover working with the leadership there (Rector, SSM Associate & PCC) to foster relationships of trust that will enable working together effectively in the future.
* Is welcoming to all, promoting the Pastoral Principles of Living Well Together and Living in Love and Faith.
The two Parishes and three churches of the Benefice (one of which is used predominantly for work with children) have their own individual identities whilst also working together in a few areas of mission and ministry.
The Benefice, effectively made up of a number of villages, is close to Bolsover in the Hardwick Deanery of Derby Diocese. There is a strong industrial heritage in some areas and a rural setting in others. There has been an effective and fruitful House for Duty ministry here previously, with fresh impetus now to work closely with the adjacent parish of Bolsover, hence the assistant Curate role with that Parish.
The Benefice is close to the M1 with excellent transport links to surrounding areas.
The house is a detached, 4-bedroom 1990’s property at 114, Horsehead Lane, Bolsover S44 6XH.
