Overview
Qualified School & College Careers Adviser (across the North East & Yorkshire) – onsite delivery only. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Career Adviser to join our team for part-time hours term time only from September 2025.
Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality careers education, information, advice, and guidance to students.
* Support the Careers Lead in achieving and maintaining the Gatsby Benchmarks.
* Ensure CEIAG Google Classrooms are regularly updated with current Labour Market Information (LMI) and relevant resources.
* Arrange career talks and a range of activities for students.
* Provide careers advice and guidance in a one-to-one setting or group workshop/assemblies to support students with their career aspirations.
* Engage with and inspire young people with SEND and disadvantaged groups as well as with their parents/carers.
* Support the Schools or College Careers Leader to implement and enhance the schools programme to contribute towards meeting the Gatsby Benchmarks.
* Undertake administration duties to ensure that all delivery evidence is complete and compliant in line with contract and quality standards.
* Experience of working with vulnerable groups and those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Qualifications & Requirements
* Level 6 qualification in careers guidance (CIAG).
* Experience of working with young people, preferably in a school or college setting.
* Thorough knowledge of education, employment, training and personal development opportunities that are available for young people and labour market information.
* Ability to deliver careers advice in one-to-one or group settings and to contribute to the school’s programme.
* Demonstrate professional commitment to children’s rights, equal opportunities and diversity.
* Experience of working with SEND and vulnerable groups.
Working Style
Our Careers Advisers are expected to work flexibly and independently but will be supported as part of the wider team. Applicants must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Starting Salary & Benefits
Starting Salary: up to £29,172.00 per annum FTE (this salary is based on being level 6 qualified and working 37 hours per week all year).
