Overview

This role represents an outstanding opportunity to contribute to cutting‑edge research exploring how creative writing can support therapeutic and social wellbeing.


Responsibilities

The Research Assistant will undertake a range of academic, research, and administrative duties in support of the project. These will include collecting, organising, and maintaining research data, as well as reviewing published research relevant to creative writing across a range of associated fields. The post holder will also support administrative activity connected to events, publications, and other academic outputs arising from the project.

The post holder will assist with the delivery of community and intergenerational workshops where appropriate, help develop research pathways, and contribute to the creation of cultural resources and case study material arising from the project. The role offers valuable experience for candidates interested in research, community engagement, creative writing, education, or arts‑based social practice.

In addition, the successful candidate may be required to undertake other duties reasonably associated with the role. The role therefore calls for a candidate who is organised, flexible, and able to contribute confidently to both the practical and intellectual development of the project.

The post holder will be expected to work in accordance with Goldsmiths’ regulations, strategy, and objectives, and to contribute proactively to the advancement of equality and diversity. They will also be required to help maintain a safe working environment by participating in any necessary training and by following Goldsmiths’ Health and Safety Codes of Practice and Policy at all times. The successful candidate will be expected to work on campus at New Cross where required.
