The Wild Rabbit is a modern British inn - a place to eat, drink and sleep Set in the heart of the Cotswolds, we serve locally sourced, seasonal food in a relaxed and welcoming setting. ABOUT THE ROLE We're looking for a talented pastry chef who is excited about being in a busy environment, who has previous experience being on a pastry section in a restaurant, and coming up with new ideas and menu development. You should be a keen foodie who keeps up to date with the latest food trends and techniques, while maintaining a solid foundation in traditional cooking. SALARY: 40000 per annum HOURS: Full time 48 Hours RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure your section is fully set for the next day with fresh MEP (mise en place). Execute all dishes as per menu specifications. Run your section efficiently and effectively at all times. Ensure kitchen audit requirements are adhered to. Assist kitchen members and colleagues proactively. Share your knowledge and passion for food with junior staff. Learn about products and production processes. Comply with internal audit requirements. Highlight health and safety (H&S) matters to your line manager. Supervise junior chefs during service. Maintain portion control in accordance with company guidelines. Record all recipes for new dishes and submit them to the Sous Chef. Support testing for accurate costings and final presentation definition. Challenge junior chefs when standards are not met and support their improvement. SKILLS YOU WILL BRING Experience at a multi-rosette or Michelin star level Solid understanding and hands-on experience in pastry Creativity and innovation in culinary work Ability to remain calm and level-headed in high-stress situations Strong work ethic and dedication to the job and industry Highly motivated and driven to succeed PERKS & BENEFITS Discounts: We offer a range of discounts on our products, treatments, and dining experiences from day 1.
