Bookkeeper - Construction Business (Cardiff)\n Recruitment via Yolkl Recruitment on behalf of our client\n\nYolkl Recruitment is working with a Cardiff-based construction business seeking a Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial operations. This is an in-office, full-time role ensuring accounts are accurate and up to date, supporting the company's chartered accountants.\n\nLocation & Hours\n\nCardiff-based, office role\n\nFull-time (9am-5pm, 40 hours per week; some flexibility possible)\n\nNo remote working\n\nSalary & Benefits\n\n£25,000 per year\n\n25 days holiday per year\n\nCompany laptop\n\nOwn office\n\nCar parking onsite\n\nEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)\n\nUnlimited tea, coffee, and filtered water\n\nRole Overview\n You will maintain bookkeeping across the company's main construction business and two smaller, quieter businesses. Using Xero, you will keep accounts up to date, handle invoicing, payments, and payroll timesheets, and provide information to accountants as required.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nRecord financial transactions in Xero\n\nManage accounts payable and receivable\n\nMaintain ledgers and track project costs\n\nProcess client invoices and record approvals or rejections\n\nCode payables for accountant review\n\nFile and retrieve financial records\n\nMonitor debt levels and ensure compliance with company procedures\n\nReconcile bank accounts and process cash receipts/deposits\n\nPrepare monthly VAT returns for accountant review\n\nRecord and manage staff timesheets for payroll\n\nPrepare CIS payment notices\n\nProvide information to accountants as requested\n\nSupport administrative and bookkeeping tasks as required\n\nRequirements\n\nExperience in bookkeeping (industry or practice; construction experience beneficial)\n\nProficiency in Xero\n\nKnowledge of VAT and CIS processes\n\nAAT, IAB, or ICB bookkeeping qualification, or equivalent experience\n\nStrong organisational and time management skills\n\nHow to Apply\n Please send your CV and a cover letter to Yolkl Recruitment, outlining your relevant skills and experience
