With several experienced team members approaching retirement, the firm is entering a period of positive transition, creating genuine scope for rapid career progression for the right person. This is a steady, close‑knit environment where clients value personal service, continuity and trust. The team is friendly and down‑to‑earth, and while the culture is more traditional than fast‑paced, there is a real openness to someone bringing fresh ideas and renewed energy. The client base consists mainly of small, owner‑managed businesses, and the partners take pride in doing things properly and delivering dependable, long‑standing support.
Your new roleAs an Accounts Senior, with strong Junior candidates also considered, you'll work with a portfolio of micro‑entity clients, with most accounts prepared under FRS 105. What you'll need to succeedYou'll have practical experience from a smaller accountancy practice and be comfortable preparing accounts from start to finish. Whether you are part‑qualified, fully qualified or qualified by experience, the most important thing is your recent, hands‑on exposure to micro‑entity and small‑business clients. Familiarity with business tax is highly beneficial.Just as importantly, you'll have a genuine desire to "do the right thing" by clients, ensuring accuracy, clarity and a long‑term relationship built on trust. Strong communication skills, attention to detail and a proactive, supportive approach will help you thrive as the firm continues to modernise and welcome new talent.
What you'll get in returnThis is a role where your contribution will genuinely matter. With several senior staff retiring over the coming years, you'll have the chance to shape your role, influence processes and progress quickly. You'll benefit from a friendly, down‑to‑earth culture, competitive salary, hybrid working options and the opportunity to build your technical and client‑facing skills. For someone seeking a long‑term, rewarding position in a traditional yet evolving firm, this is an excellent opportunity.
