We're working in partnership with a forward-thinking Local Authority to recruit a Head of Service – Assessment, Access and Occupational Therapy Services. Reporting into the Assistant Director of Operations, this is a key leadership role with strategic oversight of critical countywide services.
This is an exciting opportunity to drive service transformation, enhance performance, and deliver person-centred care across the authority. You will lead a high-performing team of Managers and work collaboratively with partners across health, housing, and social care.
Your role as Head of Service:
* Strategic leadership of multiple operational teams
* Oversight of statutory responsibilities and performance standards
* Budget management and service improvement
* Leading workforce strategy and partnership engagement
* Chairing transformation groups and embedding innovation
* Promoting person-centred approaches and value for money
Your previous experience as a Head of Service:
* Senior management experience in Adult Social Care
* Strong track record of leading operational and strategic change
* Experience of managing statutory social care functions and services
* Deep understanding of relevant legislation, safeguarding, and policy
* Skilled in budget management, data analysis, and performance oversight
* Adept at leading multidisciplinary teams and managing stakeholder relationships
* Politically astute with excellent communication and influencing skills
